Racor filters installation

If you plan to make the best use of the filter, you will drain fluid from the bottom. That means you have to get a container under the filter. That may limit your installation options. I would also install the filter upstream or before the primer bulb.

If the filter is clogged it will cause the primer bulb to collapse. This implies they must be upstream of the primer bulb. It should be simple to install one. The filter manifold can be easily mounted with two or three threaded fasteners to a bulkhead with sufficient reinforcement. I recommend filling the filter element with some fresh gasoline before threading it onto the manifold.

This will prevent having to purge a lot of air from the fuel system. This allows you to see the contents of the filter and also to draw off some fuel to sample. Here are some links. My bad. However your first post says " Outrage". I claim ignorance to the Outrage model. I will be getting a Racor filter, and I believe I did see a stainless steel aftermarket mounting part of the filter. I believe I will look into that one. I have a verado on this outrage, and I do not have a primer bulb.

Simple, regular maintenance is the easiest, quickest and cheapest way to avoid problems and accelerated engine wear. Most expensive repairs start from a lack of basic maintenance or ignoring small warnings. The work is not difficult - it just needs to be done. The purpose is so that we can enjoy our boat for all the reasons we bought her. Trust yourself. Do the work regularly and be methodical.

Hi, everyone! Just trying pick up some ideas from someone who already installed Racor dual fuel filter on HP Most of all I'm looking for location and the way it was mounted. Terry Cox. Our boat came standard with dual ten micron Racor fuel filters; one for the main engine and one for the Genset.

Both are installed on the starboard bulkhead side of the engine compartment, inline with the stuffing box. These supplement engine mounted fuel filters in both cases; ten for the main engine and six for the Genset. I may have a photo, if so I'll post it here. Yes, Terry-please post pictures of installation for both filters for engine and genset, these what I'm looking for.
