Use your shadow as your guide. Trainers cannot battle you while you are surfing above them. Navigate through the cave until you reach the exit leading to Route Save your game and restart to bring your character down closer to ground level and exit through the door. The next room of the cave will have stairs leading up to the exit.

Clip through the stairs until your head is only barely peeking through and press X to enter the menu. If you cannot enter the menu, it means that you have gone too far into the stairs.
